Our program is designed for kids who enjoy running and want to improve by setting an actionable goal and working toward it. Through the process, we will also work on your children's running form, strength, speed, cadence, stride, posture, and attitude, which benefits them in all aspects of life!
5k training program:
This session will help your intrepid + experienced athletes work toward a big goal of a 5k race! Perfect for a first timer who wants to cross the finish line AND your experienced runner who wants to get faster. We will meet every Monday from 5:15-6:15pm in Severna Park for our training sessions, and will participate in a (free) Park Run in Pasadena for our (family friendly/encouraged) 5k!
Each week we will work on our running form, getting a little faster, and going a little farther. We will talk about important parts of running like nutrition, rest, safety, and mindset. Lastly, we will close each week with a fun, active game that will leave your kiddos smiling and sweaty as they head home!
THIS 8-WEEK TRAINING SESSION BEGINS ON MARCH 11
AND OUR 5K IS ON MAY 4
all participants will receive a Braveheart tee!

NEXT SESSION WILL BEGIN IN FALL 2024 (TARGETING THE BAY BRIDGE RUN)
Strength training sessions
Thursday nights from 5:00-6:00 in Severna Park, introducing strength and power to your athlete's training!
Our progressive training will create a stand-alone fitness program OR enhance performance on the field/court/etc. This will show them the power of positive attitude, perseverance, and consistency to hit goals and improve physical conditioning.
Most importantly, it will be FUN, with the goal to create a life-long appreciation of (and joy in) fitness!

a willingness to show up, work hard, have fun, and try their best
Founded in 2020 by Sarah Clark, Braveheart Run Club is an EMPOWERMENT program for kids, using running and active games and yoga sessions to help teach resilience and self-confidence.
Dr Karyn Purvis said:
"Scientists have recently determined that it takes approximately 400 repetitions to create a new synapse in the brain unless it is done with play, in which case, it takes between 10-20 repetitions.”
We believe every child is able to compete and reach goals they once thought were beyond them. Hundreds of children have passed through our program, learning and growing stronger through sweat, hard work, and laughter.
Our runners learn the value of consistently showing up for themselves; pushing just a little harder than they thought they could; how to set big goals and work toward achieving them; the value of cross training and recovery, and so much more.
we encourage a GROWTH MINDSET in every child we meet, reminding kids that
WE CAN DO HARD THINGS!
"I love what you are doing with BHRC. It's such a fun and amazing way to incorporate exercise and time with friends...which as you know is needed now more than ever. More importantly, L... absolutely loves your class! .... she doesn’t like the pressure of competitive team sports (soccer, lacrosse, etc. ) so this has been perfect for her."

"I have two girls, one 12 and one 9. One an athlete in every sense of the word, and one who loves singing and performing. Their strengths are different, who they are as people are very different. And yet every week, they come back from run club with smiles on their faces, feeling so positive about themselves and each other. And my theater kid now asks to go for runs... for fun!!"

"She said her favorite part was having to say her affirmations “I am strong” and “I am confident” etc! She and (her sister) are not just getting outside, but they're learning so much about how to talk to themselves positively! Love what you are doing with our girls so much!"
